Retail Security
Retail security aims to reduce the losses incurred by shopkeepers and distributors as a result of theft on their premises. This type of theft is extremely damaging for it directly eats into the generally narrow margin of shopkeepers.
This is a highly specialized activity that requires personnel carefully chosen for their social skills, strength of character and observance of strict ehtical rules and procedures.
The shop inspectors of Group 1 Total Security work in plain clothes in the actual shops. Their main activity consists in observing and detecting any suspect behaviour. The inspector comes into action as soon as the thief has been caught in the act. Someone who has passed the check-out without having paid for the goods, usually concealing them, will be invited to hand them back.
